The University of Akron women's basketball team performs both on the court and in the classroom, as the Zips boast 10 players on the Dean's List for Fall 2010. This Fall the team's overall GPA was 3.40. They also have an impressive cumulative GPA of 3.45.
Akron Head Coach Jodi Kest is pleased by her team's achievements, saying, "I'm proud of our players' success in the classroom. These accomplishments are a true credit to their hard work, dedication, and commitment to academics. Their success represents the high-achieving student-athletes that compete for the University of Akron."
UA's lone senior Kara Murphy leads the way on the list, joined by juniors Denver McLean and Natasha Williams, sophomores Rachel Tecca and Taylor Ruper, and freshmen Kacie Cassell, Sina King, Hanna Luburgh, Brianna Moyes, and Carly Young.
