Taylor Ruper broke the school record for 3-pointers made in a game and Kara Murphy broke the school record for career games played and career starts as The University of Akron women's basketball team defeated Ball State 78-65 on Saturday at Rhodes Arena.
The win improved Akron to 11-12 and 4-7 in the Mid-American Conference. Ball State fell to 9-15 and 4-7 in MAC play.
Ruper was on the mark all night as she totaled a career-high-tying 26 points on 8-of-10 shooting from behind the arc. Murphy added 15 points and Rachel Tecca also found double digits for Akron scoring 12 – her ninth-straight contest in double figures.
